Optimization Of Mig Welding Technique Parameters With The Help Of Taguchi Method

Welding is a basic manufacturing process for making components or assemblies. Recent welding economics research has focused on developing the reliable machinery database to ensure optimum production. In this paper, the optimization of welding input process parameters for obtaining greater weld strength in the manual metal inert gas (MIG) welding of similar metals of mild steel is presented. The Taguchi method is adopted to analyze the effect of each welding process parameter on the weld strength, and the optimal process parameters are obtained to achieve greater weld strength. Experimental results are provided to illustrate the proposed approach.

Initially majority of the sub-assembly operations of TATRA equipment were being carried out in the main line instead of performing some of the sub assembly activities parallel to the main assembly line. This results are increased equipment assembly life cycle time. One more problem associated with the existing layout is that tools required for the entire assembly operation was placed at tool room which was very far from the workstation and the materials spare parts to be assembled was kept at stores which was also very far from the workstation. This makes the works to travel long distance whenever he needs tool or a material, resulting in wastage of time.These problems were tried to overcome in the proposed assembly line by shifting some more assembly activities from main line to the parallel line which resulted in reduced equipment assembly life cycle time. In the proposed assembly line, main line assembly activities are divided into different stages. Tools and assembly materials required for that particular stage activity is arranged near to that stage location or work station there by reducing the unnecessary movement of men and materials.

In today's world everyone wants to establish and use a process that is 100% efficient but due to some or the other reason they are not able to do so. Practically it is not possible to achieve 100% efficiency because there is something which is lost in any process which is commonly known as Waste. Waste reduces the efficiency of the process and also requires special equipment to handle it. What the industries need to focus on is how to shorten the time between the customer order, the product build and shipment by addressing sources of waste. Workstation Stability and Continuous Improvement Mapping is one of the techniques aimed at reducing manufacturing waste where several parameters are identified in an industry and evaluation is done on a monthly basis and compared with the predetermined standards to identify the scope of improvement to increase the efficiency and reduce waste.
Comparative Study Of Open Sun Drying And Solar Cabinet Drying Techniques For Drying Of Green Chilies

This communication aims to make a comparison between Open Sun Drying (OSD) and Solar Cabinet Drying Techniques. A natural convection cabinet dryer was designed, fabricated and tested under the meteorological conditions of Bareilly (28.3640° N, 79.4150° E). Green Chilies (Capsicum Annuam) were blenched with 1% NaCl solution at 850C for two minutes followed by instant cooling. 73% (w. b.) of initial moisture content was reduced to 8.5% (w. b.) and 15% (w. b.) of final moisture content for cabinet dryer and OSD respectively. Drying rate for cabinet dryer and OSD were recorded as 0.242 kg/hr and 0.177 kg/hr respectively. A gain of 53% in cabinet drying over OSD was recorded.

Control charts play an important role in monitoring the quality of a production process. Usually in designing the control charts it is assumed that the in-control times (the time to occurrence of an assignable cause) follow exponential or two parameter Weibull distribution. The three parameter Weibull distribution includes exponential, two parameter Weibull distributions as limiting cases. With suitable cost considerations the optimal values of the design parameters viz. sample size 'n', the sampling interval 'h' and control limits 'k' subject to constraints on type I and type II error probabilities are obtained. The sensitivity analysis of the statistical economic design of control chart with respect to model parameters and costs is also studied. It was found that the economic design of chart is greatly influenced by the distributional assumptions. This design is also extended to the case of random out of control times.

These nutrient sources are stimulated from the sewage, atmospheric deposition as well as agricultural, aquaculture runoff and discharge which has phosphorous, nitrogen for phytoplankton production such as harmful algal blooms leading to harmful impact to fisheries and human health. Although nutrient enrichment has a strong evidence for the stimulation of some harmful species which are not consider as factors. The overall effect of nutrient enrichment on harmful algal species is clearly determined that they are species-specific. This paper is reviewed to note for the relationships between HABs and eutrophication, focusing on the nutrient sources and its loading effect and reduction to understand the nutrient enriching pathway for HABs species. Along with this uncertain information are required in further research.

Our main objective is Experimental study on Pneumatic Grinding Machine. This study gives the better result of surface finishing of various material application. Grinding process is most important phenomenon to improve the equipment life in industrial as well as domestic purpose. Less power is required to drive the air compressor and easily handle the gridding tool. In industry every one focuses on reducing the production cost and improve the quality to increase the profit. So this study will definitely do this kind of work. Further improvement in this work is to change the various tools and their size for number of application. Also easily available in market at minimum cost. The assembly of Pneumatic Grinding Machine is very simple and the working is so efficient.
