Digital marketing is an umbrella term for the marketing of products or services using digital technologies, mainly on the Internet, but also including mobile phones, display advertisements and any other digital medium. Digital marketing had its advent in the 1980?s but come into more prominence from 2010 and onwards. The statistical mapping in 2012 and 2013 shows that digital marketing is still a growing field. Digital marketing is synonymous to as online marketing, Internet marketing or web marketing. In Italy it is referred to as web marketing, but in UK and worldwide digital marketing has become one of the most communications, more so after 2013. Online marketing has 48% growth in 2010. Digital media has estimated 4.5 trillion online advertisements are available till date. Doing business on the web is more risky than doing business with local customers. Stolen credit cards, disputed charges, off-shore shipping destinations, and the power of credit card companies to force merchants to pay for fraud, and the lack of international laws governing global E-Commerce problems are just some of the security problems with which E-Commerce merchants must struggle. For consumers, on the other hand, the risk in e-commerce is really no greater than in ordinary commerce. Although there have been some spectacular losses of credit card information involving a tiny percentage of companies because of a variety of laws, consumers are largely insolated from the impact of stolen credit card and credit card information.
